Five Master Edits in a Professional Film
Symbolism:
In this short clip from the TV series, Money Heist, it represents symbolism. The Professor explains to the heist members what they will be robbing and it is the Bank of Spain. This is symbolism because the Professor had mad a replica of the bank and then the scene quickly cuts to the inside of the actual bank. The replica was just used to symbolize the bank and to help the heist members plan their heist as well as allow the audience to see what was being robbed. The replica was very small in size compared to the real Bank of Spain, therefore giving the idea of symbolism.
Parallelism:
In the intro of The Benchwarmers, there are multiple baseball games being played that all occur at different times. This represents the edit of parallelism because the shots are of the same actions, just at different places and years. For example, the first shot was shot at Wrigley Field in the late 1900s, whereas the next shot was taken of Babe Ruth in the early 1900s. Both shots represent the baseball field and hitting a baseball, yet they were taken in different places and at different times. This all happens before cutting to a scene with the Benchwarmers and what was the current time of baseball.
Contrast:
This final scene from the TV series Lucifer shows Lucifer changing from a human to his natural character of the devil. In this show, Lucifer plays the role of the devil while living on Earth as a human. In this scene he is fighting his brother when his rage takes over bringing out his real character as the devil. This shows contrast as he can be a typical human on most days, but his real characteristics consist of a devil. This can be seen by his devil face which looks quite the opposite of a human face and is extremely red and wrinkly.
