Preparing to Film

 Actors- All members of this project will have multiple jobs

  • Brett: Actor/Scriptwriter
  • Kevin: Actor/Script writer
  • Trejo: Actor/Camera Operator
  • Israel: Camera Operator/Actor

Costumes- Costumes will involve normal casual clothes, baseball uniforms, and coaching outfits.

Props- Props will include baseball equipment (bat, glove, uniforms, balls), coaching equipment (uniform, hat, clipboard), and a massage gun for the therapy part of the film.

Locations- The film will be shot in various spots around Lely High School including the classroom, trainers room, baseball field, and around the school in general.

Date and Times- The film will be shot at different times throughout the day which follows the routine of a student athlete.

Scripts- Scripts will be made to give the audience an idea of the goals and priorities of the main characters.

Film Equipment- We will use a phone and an editing platform to help create this film.

 This shot represents the main character, Brett, signing to Blackfoot University to play D1 baseball. This was a basic shot that we filmed in the auditorium because that is the known place for student athletes to sign. As Trejo filmed and I acted as the signee, we filmed the short clip that shows my high school journey coming to an end. The biggest challenge we had during this shot was coming up with dialogue that sounded normal and not forcing something that isn't realistic. We also had to deal with darker lighting which also made it a bit more challenging.

Editing pt.1

photos of the computer/phone screen during editing (at least 3 each week) After the filming was finished, Israel got to editing it all. Israel role in the movie opener was strictly editing as this was one of the most crucial stages in the assignment. Israel spent around 2-3 hours, seen in the first picture, editing and organizing the footage filmed. His editing consisted of adding music, sound effects, subtitles, transitions which really brought the movie opener together. In the second picture, you can see the editing platform Israel used as well as what he was working with in terms of what he could have changed in the film. Israel used the Verdana typeface for the film's intro and he also used Verdana and Tw Cen MT condensed for the texts later in the film. We could have used more clips to help bring the film opener together but this was a good starting point and it can definitely be improved upon.
