Week 4 Movie Angles

Image
The Benchwarmers (2006)      I chose The Benchwarmers because it is one of my favorite movies that is full of comedy and is, in my opinion, a go-to movie.       The first shot that I decided to comment on was during the first third of the movie and takes place while the Benchwarmers were challenged to a game of hot potato. The characters during this time were trying to improve there ability to play baseball. This shot is not quite a choker but instead a low angle shot that shows Clark holding the hot potato. This shot shows a realization on Clark's face and gives the audience a bit of humor. Clark had no idea what "hot potato" was and so he was extremely confused when an intense pain came rushing to his hand. This shot also gives you an idea of the intelligence behind this particular character, which becomes especially obvious after this scene.     The next shot I chose to discuss is a  full shot that includes the full body of the ...

Week 3: Camera Angle Comments

Uriel Trejo Uriel I loved your follow shot, point of view shot, and extreme close up shot. The follow shot makes me feel like I'm in the same footsteps as the actor. This is very similar to how I feel with the extreme close up. These shots makes a viewer feel as if they know the actor personally. My favorite shot was the point of view because it was a unique scenery. The brick walkway is a unique addition that adds to such simple shot. Overall, I loved how these shots make me feel close to all characters shot in the films. Kevin Sanchez Of your shots, I really enjoyed your over the shoulder shot, tilt shot, and close shot. Your over the shoulder shot features one of my favorite actors and relays a conversation between two characters. This makes me feel as if I was there and also participating in that conversation. Your tilt shot was another one that I really enjoyed because it gave me a great perspective of the space you were in. I could clearly see that there were two stories to ...

Story Board Shots

This is an establishing shot that shows the courtyard of Lely High School. This is an extreme close up of a subject's eye. This is a full shot that includes the entire body of three subjects. This is a follow shot of the camera following the steps of Uriel. This is a dolly shot where the camera moves in a straight line and the subject is moving but his actions are not followed. This is a close up of a subject picking up an object off of a table. This is a close shot from the head of Uriel to his waist. This is a choker shot focusing on the subject's face only. This is a cameo shot where Israel is filmed against a neutral background. This is a tilt shot where the shot starts at the bottom of the building and moves up to the top of the building.

First Post

I am taking this class because I need this course in order to complete the Aice diploma. This course also drew my attention because I enjoy watching movies and other films. Learning about filming is something that is interesting me and will allow me to understand what happens behind the scenes.
